Photographs produced as part of the 1+2 Residency – Factory #14 × LabEx CIMI (IMT, IRIT, LAAS-CNRS)

Through a photographic experiment, Sidonie Ronfard aims to capture the imprint of the present from multiple angles and through different sensors and settings in order to offer images of varied typologies.

Her idea is to show that changes in parameters give a very different impression and experience of reality.

The arrangement of the photographic sensors presents different points of view of the same object, at the same time. The results are presented side by side. We thus have several visions of the same scene, but the difference in viewpoints creates doubt, uncertainty, as to the specific arrangement of the scene. The goal is to photograph a moment and experience it from several points of view simultaneously.

Turbulence reflects a tremor, a disturbance in our inner tranquility. The meaning of this concept is broad and describes an emotion as much as a phenomenon. This perspective thus pays attention to detail, and highlights the “accidents” of everyday life: wind, dust, light leaks, splashes, hand movements, sudden clearings… Tensions are created between the mastery of the device and the randomness it suggests. It is a form of harmony and chaos: a panel of photographs that present the making of reality.
